My background in veterinary medicine started in 1982, when I worked for our family's veterinarian after school. I started out as a kennel hand, was trained on the job to be a veterinary technician and eventually became the clinic coordinator. In 1991, after 3 years in the Army Reserve, I went to Harcum College, where I double majored in Veterinary Technology and Animal Center Management. I worked for 5 years at another clinic, then became a stay at home mom when my first child was born 2 months premature. I spent 8 years working with one of Lancaster’s best portrait photographers, then 3 years as a para educator and “lunch lady” at Conestoga Elementary. I joined the Willow Run Veterinary Clinic team in 2010 as a Certified Veterinary Technician. I became a Senior Technician in 2012, the Technician Supervisor in 2013 and now the Inventory Manager in 2018. I am a member of Willow Run's safety committee, the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association, National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America, American Animal Hospital Association and the American Heartworm Society. I joined the Advisory Board for the Lancaster Career and Technology Center’s new Veterinary Technician Program in December of 2015, and currently serve as Chairperson. I really enjoying talking about what I do, and have done several career days at local schools.
I have 2 amazing children, Megan and Spencer, whom I love to death and make me so proud! I also have a Boxer named Issy, Pit Bull named Deacon, Ridgeback mix named Ziva, Shiba Inu mix named Hope, 7 cats and 2 goats. My interests include photography, gardening and helping with my family's maple business.
